The homeowners association, Driftwood Acres Maintenance Corporation (DAMC) contains two developments, Driftwood Acres and Cozy Acres. Driftwood Acres contains 151 lots and Cozy Acres contains 12 lots plus one annexed lot. Driftwood Acres was developed in the 1964-74 time frame and contains 50 quarter acre lots, 90 half acre lots, 4 one acre lots, and 7 two acre lots. Cozy Acres was developed in the 1993-94 timeframe and contains 13 one acre lots. In 2002 DAMC incorporated Cozy Acres as part of the Driftwood Acres community and became part of the DAMC homeowners association.
The DAMC homeowners association has seven elected Board of Trustees. Each trustee is elected by the homeowners for a two year term, with the exception of the Secretary/Treasurer which is a paid position and is held until a new person is elected. The trustee positions are President, Vice-President, Roads Chairman, Architectural Chairman, Water Chairman, and Special Projects Chairman. Three positions are open for elections on even numbered years and the other three on odd numbered years.
When Driftwood Acres and Cozy Acres were combined into one homeowners association in 2002 the two water systems were combined into a single water system. The two developments have a private water system operated by the DAMC homeowners association and supported by Evergreen Valley Utilities Company (EVU). The water system is supplied by a number of underground aquifers and well pumping stations. The system is gravity feed and contains no water treatment facilities. The system is composed of three wells, water storage tanks and a distribution network. The wells range from 280 feet deep to 390 feet deep equipped with submersible pumps controlled by one master control system which activates the pumps by sensing the water level in the main storage tank. The water storage consists of one 70,000 gallon above ground concrete tank (1994) and three 10,000 gallon buried steel tanks (1969) for a total of 100,000 gallons. The tanks are all located on a hillside above the developments and provide a minimum gravity flow pressure of 50 psi at connection points.
